All studs are to be made of aluminium (metal). No shoe will be allowed with a single-toe stud. Moulded rubber studs are permitted so long as there are no sharp edges.
Soft ground shoes are ideal for the wetter times of the year when pitches are soft, wet or muddy. In these conditions, shoes with added grip and traction will provide optimum stability for players.
They should check that the shoes and studs/blades are safe to be worn; that there are none missing, they are suitably tightened and have no sharp edges or burring. By law, a match official has the power to decide at any time that part of a player's clothing is dangerous or illegal, this includes shoes and studs.
